Anything Genie related announced at CES?

I'm currently on Dish and am planning to move to Direct TV.

Question that I'd like answered is will there be a new Genie or other whole house DVR coming out from Direct TV that was announced at CES or otherwise announced?

If a new DVR is expected from Direct TV, I'd rather wait so that I can get it.

DirecTV made no announcements. They were part group announcements for UHD/4K & RVU, That was it.

There are rumors of a new Genie, but I haven't read anything that confirms it. Directv keeps things close to the vest.

I was told at CES by one person from DIRECTV that a new 4k Genie was over a year away.

Well they just joined the UHD Alliance.

Until the 4K specs are standardize by the alliance, I don't see DdirecTV releasing a 4K box. Hopefully they will quickly agree and not turn this into a Beta/VHS boondoggle.

The only thing "announced" was that lg was added to the rvu tv list. And 2015 lg 4k tvs will eventually be added to our 4k partners

That's my opinion too. Especially with all my HDTVs working fine.

In two years, the price will be way down and the UHD Alliance will probably have a standardization in place.

I wasn't even thinking of TVs in the world of IoT, but I expect there will be more televisions integrated into smart homes.
