In the first edition of the new Associated Press’s Pro32 NFL rankings, an expert panel has ranked the Broncos at No. 10 out of the league’s 32 teams.

Voters ranked teams from 1 to 32. A No. 1 ranking is worth 32 points on down.

The Broncos received 271 points, one fewer than No. 9 New Orleans.

Only one of the preseason Top 10 teams (Philadelphia) didn’t make the playoffs in 2011. The top-ranked team, the Green Bay Packers, had the best regular season last year at 15-1 but failed to make the NFC Championship game.

The Top 10 is as follows:

1. Green Bay Packers (374)

2. New England (369)

3. New York Giants (362)

4. San Francisco (336)

5. Baltimore (315)

6. Houston (314)

7. Pittsburgh (308)

8. Philadelphia (290)

9. New Orleans (272)

10. Denver (217)

The panelists, who include broadcasters like John Lynch and veteran NFL reporters like Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News, ranked San Diego at No. 16, Kansas City at No. 18 and Oakland at No. 23.

Once the NFL season starts, the AP Pro32 rankings will be updated weekly.

No way that Denver is in the top 10. A new QB doesn't make a team instantly that good. Cincinnati is a better team than Denver. They play each other and when ESPN was going through Denver's schedule they noted the Bengals game would be a definite loss.

It's not just a "new QB", it's Peyton "Freaking" Manning.......not saying the ranking is right or wrong, but he instantly improves any team he is on (if healthy).
And Denver DID make the playoffs and beat the Steelers if I recall correctly..... and that was without a QB.

I found the whole list...

The good thing about the NFL is that pre-season polls, post-season polls, and mid-season polls don't mean squat! It's all worked out on the field.

New York even though they are the champs are overrated,so is San Fran,New Orleans might be as well without their head coach.Atlanta is underrated and perhaps Denver is a tad overrated. But,that's just my opinion.

I agree 100% as long as he's as you said healthy. Should be an exciting season for your broncos.
Hmmm Miami at 27? Perhaps too High? if competition at Qb is tight then Miami should go with the rookie and let him go through the inevitable growing pains early. This season I'm more concern with our Qbs maturation process than winning games. Allthough I can't say other fans feel the way i do.

So, you didn't like the poll results?????

There are 12 different voters.

Don't care really because polls are usually to stir up conversation. In actuality, it cause more fights than solves them. And who is to say one 'expert' has more credibility than another?

Hey, at least they ranked Oakland 3 places higher than the ESPN Power Rankings!!!

Has nothing to do with where the Raiders were rank. Anyone that knows me knows that I have said the same thing about polls...they are only good for ranking cereal and toilet paper. Not for sports and politics. Polls do not do anything but start senseless arguments.

And determine the Bowl Championship Games in college football.

Isn't that the point, to get people talking about the Sport ?

Same goes for College Football, that said, I have no need for polls for the NFL, the weekly Standing does that by itself.
