Are their any channels on Ku that have cc?

I have looked constantly since I got my dishes trying to find closed caption. Are their any channels out there?

There are a few on 97W. You have to make sure you have a receiver that will decode CC.

The HDVR1200 does not do closed captioning. Three DVBS2 models that I am aware of do CC: MicroHD, HDVR3500 and iLink 9000.

I'm sure you know,Brian...But I've seen ads that say "Closed Captioning support." I thought about buying one before choosing the Micro.

The CC function was spec'd and partially developed for the HDVR1200, but was was never implemented.

MicroHD, HDVR3500 and iLink 9000 are the only STBs supporting CC.

Another issue is some receiver will not pass CC via HDMI.

I don't know of any DVBS2 STB that passes either EIA-608 or EIA-708 via HDMI for a connected TV to decode. Instead, these STBs decode internally and overlay on the video outputs.

Ah...so that's why the confusing specs then.I'm just glad you and others steered me towards the Micro! I'd have been miffed if I bought specifically for CC and it wasn't there.

Having said that...turns out we rarely use the CC after all. Go figure.
