Well, if they hadn't charged $10 per month to sub, there might have been more interest on AT&T. D* get a hint. Keep it free.

Indeed. The ONLY reason I switched from E* to D* was for the 3D channels. I'm sure AT&T will lose a few subs over this deletion, but probably not enough that they will care.

Well, another concern is it was rumored ESPN may only give ESPN 3D one more year before pulling the plug. It losing a fairly decent sized provider does not help.

thats what dimhouse does. my argument that directv offered it for free fell on deaf ears as did my argument it should, at least, be available for a promo price.

Another reason this channel will fail. When you're watching sports you don't consistently watch the game. Baseball is a good example of that. Putting on the glasses, taking off the glasses to talk to the kids or wife whatever. It's not going to work .

Im good for 2.5-3 hours, but we watch fball all day. No way am I wearing those things for that long. I wear safety glasses at work all day, not the same experience for the eyes and nose IMO.

I don't know if this is true or not Someone told me that ESPN 3D on UVERSE had less then 200 subscribers.

If that is true I can see why they pulled it.

The glasses is one reason I like the new passive sets. Wearing them for extended periods is not an issue.

I would hate to see this channel go from D*, hopefully it will stick around.

Regardless, an ESPN exec said late in 2010, that the "trial" was not doing well and they were losing a lot of money. They had however planned for 2011 programming.

If it continues to do poorly, which I feel it may, should be interesting. Most of us are die hards with gear and do no represent the masses. And me being a die hard, I became bored with it, regardless of my wifes issues. Ive not missed it one bit, which is sad because I hyped it too.

The problem for ESPN 3D, and other 3D channels is, not one person I know, other than myself, watches 3D in the home. Not one. Im sure this is quite common. Latest chart I saw on the box office take is, 3D is flat. It's got the same share as it did a few years ago, when it was on less screens.

Convert HDMI to component, cheaply?
