AVerMedia MPD-Global - AVerTV Satellite PCI

This card is capable of blind scan?

  • Watch free-to-air digital satellite TV and listen to digital radio channels on your PC
  • Auto Scan Transponder by Select satellite
  • 32/64-bit support
  • Satellite Internet Access support
  • Blind-Scan
  • 16-Channel preview
  • PIP/POP
  • Real-Time EPG information in OSD
  • Color/Brightness/Contrast adjustment
  • Auto power off
  • Windows Vista certificated

Perhaps the folks from AverMedia should contact Iceberg and see if he would like to review one. After all there is no bigger Free To Air audience in the USA then right here at SatelliteGuys.US. :)

I did a search for "blind" in the PDF and it came up with no results. From looking at the manual (There are three ways to add transponders, using a SDX file, manually adding the transponder and this last way) it looks like what they call a "Blind Scan" is the ability to scan a frequency range for a known symbol rate (Pg 42).

Example: You need to specify the frequency range: "11700 - 12200" MHz and symbol rate of "5000".

(With the right software the Twinhan 102G can do the same)

For the Twinhan you can use THScan (Transponder Finder for TwinHan DVB-S), It allows you to enter a frequency range to scan and you must enter the possible symbol rates in a text box or a text file.
