Everytime I try ti update I get the message "Failed to Update."
It wont download from the one site (not the one with the "link to" option)
Tried it twice and it only downloads 25MB when its a 45+ MB file
I think part of the problem is that the entire FW is not downloading properly for some people.
Radar noticed it in the last update and said when he looked the FW only downloaded partially not the full download.
I guess if your not paying close enough attention this can happen, not everyone thinks to look at the size of the file before they try loading it in.
I checked the download from a couple of sources (I haven't checked the mirror). The site with the addy
azupd.nl would again not download the full image file. It was counting up the % completed and got to 30-40% and then
zzzziiiiippppp! right to the end. When I checked the file size, it was less than partial (at about 5 - 15 KB). Tried it several times.
I then went to the site with the addy
az.evg33.ru/fw/ and it downloaded just fine. This was the same case for the last image file (5301). My quotes from the thread on that version below:
"Always good to have other options. For instance, right now! I tried to download 5300_1 and 5300_2 and 5301 from these sites and there is either something wrong with their files or their server. I can only download about 6-10 KB of the image file. I went to this resource instead:
Index of /fw/ which allowed me to download the whole file. I am loading it up now to start testing."
"One bit of advice for everyone. Whenever you are doing an update like this, where you don't know what the outcome is going to be, power down and disconnect your HDD first! This will save you a lot of frustration."
"Also, directly from OpenSat technical support, it IS recommended to perform a format of the application area if there are significant changes in the firmware versions you are installing."
Please note: This new firmware isn't what I would call significant changes, not even the past few. They have all been minor adjustments and improvements in my book.
