I have been with iO digital cable for a few months and especially lately, the digital channels are nearly unwatchable. The channels I am trying to watch are Euronews and BBC World (almost completely unwatchable), G4 (barely watchable), and the local HD channels, especially NBC on 704 (I'm on the Raritan branch of the system in NJ). The symptoms are constant breaking up of audio and constant artifacts and periodic blanking of the video. The non-digital channels (below 100) I typically watch (such as regular NBC4, CNN, Sci-Fi) have a much lesser occurence of these (though they do happen occasionally).
I have an HD-Ready TV connected via component as well as a separate connection to an analog VCR via the regular cable jack. Both experience the artifacts the same way which leads me to believe the issue is not between the cable box and the TV. The question is, is the problem likely at my site or at Cablevision's and how should I proceed? Should I try calling Cablevision for support?
