Bally Sports and MSG RSN Are Reportedly Preparing For Bankruptcy

I was thinking about that too, but I'll have to look and see if I am allowed to Cancel MLB, now that its been paid.

I've asked them specifically how much the Tigers were (letting them know I already have MLB.TV) they come back with the same answer ... $189 ... which I think is ridiculous seeing every other team is about $50.
Sounds like you can cancel at any time.

May I cancel any time?

I did see this about Detroit Sports Net:

For the non-RSN teams, MLB.TV subscription prices will be the same as last year -- $99.99 per season or $19.99 per month. Detroit SportsNet, though, is available for $189.99 for the full year and includes Red Wings games.

So I guess Detroit Sportsnet is more because you are paying for hockey too.

That was My thought too ...
Do you mean contact the Detroit Tigers ?
No I haven't .

As for MLB, yes, several times (for anyone needing to contact them, no one answers till after 12 EST)
Yes the Tiger organization. MLB wouldnt know much. and MLB.TV is unclear.

I see Detroit Sportsnet has been added to the list of teams in the article you posted, it wasn't a few days ago ... npow I'll check to see if they have been added to the MLB.TV + Tigers yet (like the others are).

Ok, it looks like seeing I am now Subbed to MLB.Tv, I cannot access the Browse Sub section, so I don't know if they have added the Tigers to the App yet or not.

I'm thinking I might just have to go the $20 per month route, add that and see what happens on the App ... I think some of the games are on during Spring Training already (which I really don't care about seeing the regulars don't play much).
So come End of March, I'll see if nothing else has come out, I'll add it then.

Ok ... then are you paying for it, I know you follow the Detroit teams.
Nope, given up on sports except for the NFL, more important things in the world, like learning how to be a human being again after my wife's passing, dating, now getting married again.

Sports were taking up way too much of my life, now I am traveling, theme parks, shopping, exploring and soon, going on my first cruise.

So tired at getting upset at when the team does not do well, life is too short.
What you say is complaining is Letting people know what to expect that may be in the same situation as I am.
I am saying….why complain over and over, the best way to handle such a thing, is with not subscribing.
There are Plenty of people up here that are Tigers fans up here that Need to be able to get thier finances for such a thing situated and there are plenty that don't want to pay MORE for 1 team than the WHOLE League ....
No one needs to watch MLB, a desire yes.
They are not the Yankees or Dodgers where you have the largest market in the world.
Those markets are crashing also, the Network that the Dodgers is on, loses $150 Million a year, what is happening to the smaller/mid-sized market, will, quite soon, happen in the large markets.

So, your answer to watching the upcoming Baseball season for Tiger fans is .... Don't ...

I believe that is a Personal choice ... you this year decided to Not.

That doesn't work for many of us.

I have a feeling this piecemeal approach is going to end up costing MLB a lot of $$. I understand the teams are losing RSN revenue, but there should be one product at a set price for everyone. Either have everyone buy MLB.TV and it include everything (in market and out) or do a MLB.TV Gold or something at a higher price that includes the in market streaming across the board based on zip code.

the piecemeal approach is just until 2028 or whatever when they can package all the local rights together into a new media deal, but you're right - they're going to lose a lot of money, fans, and subscribers in the interim. unfortunately, the way the RSNs are collapsing doesn't really give them much choice.

They are doing that for most teams ... MLB.TV is $149
MLB.TV + a local team is $199 ...

Thats what the MLB page is showing when you go on the app and Browse Packages.

It's just not All teams have that option showing.

An Example:

An Example:

True, but you still have to pick the right package per team and there can be more than one version. People are confusing the Braves "single team" package intended for out of market customers who want only the Braves with the new Braves.TV package that isn't listed yet. What I'm saying is there shouldn't be MLB.TV + Local Team. It should be MLB.TV (out of market) or MLB.TV everything (in market and out of market), no signing up per team. The system should know what teams are assigned to your zip code and do it automatically if you pay the higher price. The pricing also varies. The Giants.TV/MLB combo for example is $219 this season, not the $199 others are. It's all over the place.

Interesting, I didn't notice the Giants being more ...

I agree, you should be able to order Out of Market for one price and Everything for another .... :)
With No Blackouts.

If you get the Everything package, you see the Amazon Friday Night game on MLB.TV as well and any others like that...

I would assume it's more because of Sacramento A's should be included too.
the Giants and A's are on two different RSNs.

NBCS Bay Area - Giants + Warriors
NBCS California - A's + Sharks

yes, it's dumb af and if you go to nbcsportsbayarea.com, all 4 teams are there. Again, it's dumb af

The end is here-

Main Street Sports Group will officially wind down after the first round of the NHL playoffs, SBJ learned Thursday, while sources said Main Street's 13 NBA teams were informed in a league call Wednesday that they will likely be reimbursed some portion of this year's lost rights fee payments.

While it was almost a forgone conclusion for months, Main Street's lenders on Thursday officially signed the paperwork to wind down the business -- for the NBA on the last day of its regular season April 12 and for the NHL after any of its seven teams (the Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Red Wings, Kings, Wild, Predators and Blues) finish the first round of the playoffs. The NHL opening round is expected to begin April 18, with all of the best of seven series likely to end by the end of the month or conceivably early May.

But teams had waited to strike any local TV deals, just in case Main Street found an investor. It put those franchises in a bind, though, because Main Street has not made a single rights fee payment in 2026 to any of its 13 NBA and seven NHL partners -- and many of those teams had doubted the money would ever arrive.
