Direct TV service. Main unit is an HD - H20-600 with 9 rear jacks and card slot in face front. Have DVD and Wi connected. Flat screen monitor. When watching TV off of this unit, every channel has wavy bars at 45 degree angle . . . its like watching TV through fluttering mini blinds. When playing a DVD through this unit, video is perfect . . . only occurs when watching TV or HDTV.

Bedroom unit, off of same dish, is an HIRD - E1. Video performance for TV and HDTV off of this unit is perfect.

I am therefore assuming cables to main unit are fine, else why great video when playing DVD's.

I am therefore assuming dish grounding is not an issue as why great video from bedroom unit.

No other electrical appliances on same circuit as main unit that may be a cause of bars / fluttering.

Could azmuth be slightly off?

Could the main unit, HD - H20 - 600 manufactured in 2006 be failing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.:)

Many of the H20-600's were recalled. See this thread http://www.satelliteguys.us/directv-forum/148120-h20-600-partial-recall-dtv.html

That could easily be your issue.

what kind of connection are u using to begin with? Component? HDMI? and what type of connection your DVD is using?
