V-mart, the former Red Sox player turned "has-been", has just temporarily upgraded his status to "is" by hitting a grand slam against the Red Sox in the first inning. It is running shtick for lots of fans in lost of cities to say, "Why can't we get guys like that" when a former player comes back to bite them. Does anyone here know if there are published statistics on how players tyend tp perform versus their former teams as compared to how they do against the rest of the league?

Not sure about your request.

However, as far as V-mart goes, as far as I'm concerned, anything they get from him is a bonus seeing the injury hes coming back from.

I look at it as the same s coming back from like Tommy John surgery, next year he should be full go. (and getting older, but then didnt play last year, so no aches and pains from the year worth of playing).

That said, if he gets on a roll the rest of the year, it will be a huge boost for the Tigers.
