We switched to cable and now want to switch back to satellite. The cable guys cut my satellite wires so I put new ends on them (gold plated) and then reconnected the wires.

Unfortunately, it says NO SIGNAL DETECTED.

Is this because you can't cut these wires, it detects it and makes it malfunction? Or because I didn't do a perfect connection? or anyone have any other ideas?

It should work. I used RJ6 cable and proper ends and such to join the old wires back up.

Any ideas??? NO TV!! Driving me nuts!! (until the satellite guy gets here and re hooks me back up) My satellite service is still working fine and hasn't been disconnected, the cards are fine... something's up with the connection somehow. i called them and they said wait for the install guy but I really would like to watch tv today!!

Help!!!!

Yup, it says unknown device :)

Well, the installer comes today so he'll fix it up. I figure it's just the lack of professional connections... some things just aren't that easy to get perfect.
