Blu-ray for Only $14 Sale

Like I've been saying, I think the overall price will drop soon and it is finally happening. Titles are now available for $14. Now before you say it's a bogo or 50% off deal to sway the market, look at the details. The discs list price is just $19.99 and Amazon's typical 30% off gets them down to $14. BB's price is just $17.99.

So it seems prices are coming down and closer to the price point of standard DVDs. But how can that be? The red ant FUD mongers told us prices are supposed to go up...

The ending of BOGOs doubles the price alone. It may not "Increase" but it is not going down on the software end any time soon. :D

I think people are using bogo's too much. I for one used it TWICE. Thats 4 out of 30+ movies. Rest were bought at full amazon price.

Granted many jump on Bogos, but many do not. I set what I want to buy every week up in my google calendar, and buy them regardless.

Of course they are. I jumped on the few HD-DVD BOGO's. If I were neutral I'd be broke. Quite a few people that don't even own Blu-Ray players yet posted that they bought (I doubt it if was more than one hundred people nationwide.), since Blu-Ray BOGO free discs were cheaper than SD DVD's.

You have to start somewhere, so even though its only 6 titles now, the list will only get bigger.

In fairness, I need to say that this news is almost as old as Vurbano's whining about PS3 BC in Japan thread... this sale has been going on for at least a month.

I have over 50 on hand and on order. Almost all were bought on BOGO or thru another sale. Very, very few were bought at full price. I figured once the war was over, the sales would dry up.

At the rate I watch movies, I have a several month supply.

"The Fountain" - Now that's one weird movie.
