Blue ray player messing up

My wife and I just got a blue ray LG player, we had a problem when playing a DVD that it would freeze or the picture would get mess up. So we returned the blue ray and got a Samsung with the same problems. So the point is dose blue ray players have problems reading DVDs.

Most don't. Of course, there are some defective DVDs out there, but I gather that's not the case here. You might check that DVD in another player, just in case.

I have a PS3, OPPO 83 and Sammy 1500, and all play DVDs just fine. They may not handle the fast forward searching equally smoothly, but they all play DVDs and Blu-rays just fine.

all our DVDs play in our PS2 just fine. I just cant belive we got 2 defective Blue Ray players.

I have hundreds of DVDs. The ones that have problems playing in either BluRay player also have problems playing in a regular DVD player as well. Is this just one or two discs or a great many of them? Sometimes a disc can be out of margins and still play on a tolerant player.
