been waiting for Wilder to fight a real HW and did he answer the bell. after seeing his last 15 or so fights against questionable opponents i was impressed. can't wait till his next outing.

Garcia found himself in a war...... very lucky to get the call in that fight.

got any Boxing fans here ?

Sure do!!

Enjoyed a great weekend of boxing! and Wilder definitely showed his chops, great knockout!

Garcia deserved the win, but it was a tight fight and very enjoyable.

Humberto Soto in a war with Juan Carlos Abreu

Abreu knocked silly by Soto twice went to the" hey i lost my mouth piece trick" both times costing him a point the last time.

Jorge 'Maromerito' Paez Jr hooked up with Vivian 'Vicious' Harris in split decision a very close battle. neither giving much ground in a great watch.

Jose Pedraza was far less than impressive in his match with Alberto Garza on DTV PPV. the crowd in Ponce, Puerto Rico was longing for more out of Pedraza but Garza was having little of that til the 12th round when Pedraza nicknamed the Sniper got out of his shell and fired his most shots since early in the bout. let just say the judges were not kind to Garza on this night.

You know one thing I've found interesting is how the announcers on the various stations handle themselves when a really poor decision is made or a referee gets a little to much 'into' the fight him/herself!

Most of the stations seem to gloss over it a bit, usually noting the 'boos' from the crowd and casually mentioning how the crowd feels. But on ESPN2, Teddy Atlas is very vociferous and opinionated when these things happen. Gotta love Teddy!! :)

Paulie Malignaggi is my newest fav his understanding of what's going on in the fight is fresh and enlightening. no wonder this guy is so hard to hit in his career he thinks like a doctor in surgery,
he had a great line about some judges in the resent past. something like--- " it's a shame when one has such a great seat and misses a good fight.

Showtime reaches deal for Adonis Stevenson vs. Andrzej Fonfara fight

HBO chose not to renegotiate a contract with WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (23-1, 20 KO’s), who is fighting Andrzej Fonfara (25-2, 15 KO’s) on May 4th at the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. HBO had the option of taking this fight and keeping Stevenson with their network, but they passed up on the deal

another reason to have Showtime over HBO imo

HBO has really slowed down on boxing these days. Used to be that SHO and HBO were pretty much neck and neck in boxing events. Now HBO has 2 fights per event almost all the time while SHO not only has the main events, sometimes they show the preliminary fights on SHO Extreme. I love that!!

These days I watch fights on SHO, HBO, ESPN2, BeIN and FS1 mostly. Some other channels that I record and sometimes watch are FS2, SNY and NESN. SNY has 'Broadway Boxing' which is mostly local fighters, some really good fights from unknowns and no few stinkers!! :) FS1 has some Golden Boy promotions up and comers, not always well known names but usually pretty decent fights with an occasional great fight.

Looking forward to the Stivern vs Arreola heavyweight fight!

me too on the channels save HBO. hoping Sho gets back into mma already i'm spoiled.

Direct TV now offers TYC Sports, ESPN Deportes, beIN Spanish,Fox Deportes and GOL for $4.99
always wanted to watch the TYC boxing @ this price giving it a look. ESPN Deportes has Jungle Fight 67 mma this Saturday too. i'll try it a few months.

got to see Anselmo Moreno vs Javier Nicolas Chaconon from last Saturday on replay TyC last night. Moreno all class in it, very good boxer not seen here much.

if you like Muay Thai - WCK Muay Thai full rules is on some of the 600s, 693 & 694 mostly they've had it the past year or so. some of the best Muay Thai i've seen here in the states.

Adonis is a late bloomer alright... 36 years old.
As for HBO not negotiating... not really surprised as they always went for the "names" instead of quality boxers.
As for May first, dont forget to scan the skies.

Cheers, K

Are the channels in that package just Spanish or do they have 2nd language selection in English?

And what is Muay Thai? I don't think I've ever seen it though my boolean search records some on occasion.

Fighting is a Universal language :D

Kickboxing = no elbows most the time. no grabbing back of the head too.
grabbing back of the head in Kickboxing - K-1 rules was ok till a couple years back.
