Will a bandstop filter stop hd signals too, or just the mrv features. As in if I wanted to put a bsf on an hr23 to prevent mrv access would tht stop hd as well? Looking to keep the guest room from seeing liv and 2beds. And I know I can change the setting in the menu, but anyone staying with me can change tht too easily.

It would not affect HD, it only blocks the MRV signals. But why not lock it out in menu and password protect it? Honestly why is it an issue anyway? Seems like an odd restriction, especially for a guest room.

That was my first thought, but if that were the case you would be isolating the bedroom from the living room and guest room. Isolating the guest room while leaving the bedroom and living room common makes no sense. I don't think there's any porn you could actually keep on a DVR though, is there? Isn't it all 24 hour PPV? And seriously, who actually pays for porn nowadays? :D

Well to correct you both lol, if you sub to hustler for 3999 per month, u can record all u want, probably the same for playboy. And I used guestroom as an example, the client is doing something frowned upon, but not quite account stacking, its a college house tht multiple ppl split rent, I'm trying to get some rooms mrv some not, and if I can get multiple mrv "networks" thyself be awesome... I might rewire for 2 dishes, swm16 here now. And its all 18-21yo girls in this house I'm starting, so probably no porn. When I do some of the LL's other properties tht may be an issue lol, but I hav porn on one of my dvrs lol. 2nd question now.. how do u lock mrv? I didn't know u could lock the controls, I looked through the menus, but obviously not well enough. Haha

Well my bad, there was a setting that I thought turned off the MRV, but it only blocks other boxes from reading that one, not the other way around. But FYI the parental controls lock out all settings menus without the password (its not just for setting ratings and such).

It is absolutely possible to set up 'unit networks' for MRV.. The SWM line from each SWM16 would have an initial split (say 4 way, one to each of four units), with a BSF on each output. That would allow each unit to create an MRV cloud without it 'leaking' into a neighbor's cloud. Obviously though you would have to judge the maximum number of tuners that would be installed in each unit and allocate the SWM accordingly (ie: a 2 bedroom unit will probably have four, but I would allocate 5 to be safe, they might want that second DVR)

You are awesome Matt, I didn't think about putting bsfs on each swm out of the 16 to prevent them from seeing eachother. Tht will work out perfectly in my scenario as its not split units, but 10 bedrooms in one Victorian style house. (One address) so this way I can group the rooms off as per whose rooming with who, not everyone wants mrv, but some girls want a dvr w.o paying for one, ie sharing. Now I just need to figure out how to sleep onsite to give 24/7 tech support :P
