Hi, I am starting to play around with C band. I am trying to point my 6' WSI dish at 103w. Do I just set the elevation of the dish to what dishpointer says (using one of the magnetic angle finders) and play around with the azimuth and hope for the best? This is how I had luck with my offset KU setup. Not sure if there is a lot more to it for a setup that is only looking at 1 satellite. I am pretty sure I punched in a strong transponder and set the LO up properly.

Also, what is the dielectric plate that comes in the LNB box used for?

Thanks.

If you're not motorizing your dish, you've pretty much got it. Set the elevation on the dish, set the skew on your LNB, and find your azimuth.

The dielectric plate is to coax a circular polarized signal into linear form. This would be used when aiming at a circular c-band signal. Those are frequently used on sats east of 55W.

Thanks for the help. I won't have time to play around again until over the holidays but at least it looks like I am on the right track.
