I looked up for C-Span on LyngSat site, and OMG!!!
It's NOT FTA!!! Like it used to be!!!

What happen???

AMC-11 satellite ONLY STREAMING.

No video??? Haven't look at it because I only saw on LyngSat.

C-Span used to be FREE when they were on Analog C-band.

Ooohhh!!! They're NOT FTA.

Isn't there C-Span FTA on C-band???

GOSH!!!

With the decrease in bandwidth on C-band for the cellular services, I figure that satellite transponder leasing will be more costly (supply and demand) and some may decide to go via fiber or via the Internet only. I used to want a C-band dish back in the day for all of the FTA stuff, but with more free things disappearing, sellers getting out of the business, etc., I'm glad I didn't make the investment. Before long, I figure the majority of FTA will be Ku-band only.

I just turned in C-Span with my BUD and I'm surprised that the ORIGINAL C-Span is still remain analog!!! Even though they uses black bars on a 4:3 ratio rate. I thought analog C-band are GONE since 2008??? Anyway, I program C-Span onto my analog C-band receiver. So that I can watch CPAC on C-Span, again, TONIGHT.
I'm surprise know that the ORIGINAL
C-Span is still on analog since they started in the 20th century.
I'm curious why they remain analog C-band?? But I love it.
Thanks!!

I don't know where you got 2008 because there were 4 full time analog C-Band channels left as of June 2014
Weather-left at end of June 2014
Shepherd's Chapel-went digital/HD on August 1, 2014
(mentioned at the end of the above link)
QVC left analog in 2015
