Hello, I have twc cable and a normal sd tv that has crappy sound.

I was wondering if I could just buy a cable box that has some audio outputs that I could feed to my home theatre system. Is that possible or do I have to rent one from twc?

My tv has no audio out options. Hence the looking into a cable box. Can cable box's even do this? Pass video through to the tv and sound through to another system like my Home theatre?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Yeah...you could get the digital cable box from TWC, then use the audio outputs from that. Digital channels will have digital sound, some will be in 5.1, most in 2.0. Analog channels will be in analog sound.

You could alternatively run the cable through a VCR to use the analog cable with your sound system.
