Can a GloryStar system connect to any Ku band sat or get non-GS programming?

Just curious if the GloryStar DVR system can connect to any Ku band satellite or get non-GloryStar programming on Galaxy 19? The system is only $289, but though I don't care for the christian content the system itself looks like a nice all in one package.

yes. When you power it on for the 1st time you would select "advanced" or "hobbyist" mode (if you select Glorystar mode it would load the G* approved channels only)

I have a GeosatPro 200 and use it as a regular FTA receiver
