Yes, if you set the video to 480i in the tv system menu, the HDMI output will still have hd quality output simultaneously. Stay away from the V.format button on the remote. BAD.

Setting output to 480i I'm able to use hdmi, RGB(component) and composite(yellow) all at the same time to three TV's..

I would like to know what one could do with the SCART connector on the back of the S9... (with an adapter) S video, more component outputs????

is it outputting 1080i thru the HDMI?
SCART is new to me too. Says VCR (which I never hooked back up after we went to a Plasma) . I usta record Cband WILD FEEDS in the early days. lotsa ZENA, RENEGADE, ST DS9.
VHS looks so crappy though after seeing 1080.

I had a scart to video adapter. It has s-video and the 3 rca cables (red/yellow/white) so you could hook it to another TV as example...480i output though
