Canada and US locals

We are going to Niagara Falls on the Canadian side towing our 45ft 5th wheel. We wilI be staying at the koa there. I have discovered that dish cannot broadcast local Canadian TV stations because of some stupid law. My thoughts is to give dish the koa address in New York instead of Ontario and get their locals since it's only 13 miles between koa's. Does anyone know if this will work? The boss would like to have her ABC, CBS, fox, NBC, etc...Thanks for any help.

Canadian satellite carries american stations...but dish can't carry canadian channels....your close enough to the border for a ny address to work

That's what I understand. But to get locals, couldn't I just give dish the New York koa address and receive the locals out of Buffalo even tho I'm 13 miles away in Ontario?
