I'm not a huge baseball fan, but my buddy and I decided to watch the Rangers v. Rays game today. TBS is in the package I sub to, but was shocked when I tried to tune to the game this afternoon.

When I turned to channel 139 i got the "Attention 743" "this program is not availble for viewing in your area"

What is going on that I don't know about?

Fox Sports Net Southwest is carrying the game and if you're in the Rangers area that's what you'll have to view it on.

If you are in the 2 teams markets, it is blacked out on TBS. You have to watch it on your local RSN or local channel

noticed it a couple weeks ago when the Twins were on. TBS blacked out. Had to watch it on local stations

i am in south texas. it wasn't playing on any of my locals. funny how they work that out. good thing i am not that big of a mlb fan. thanks for the replies.

There is a difference between your local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and your independent channels and your local FSN, which I believe was about 416 on the Dish dial.

Not on your local network station, your "local rsn" in your case that is
Fox Sports Net Southwest. The game was on that channel.

Yeah, i know what FSN is and I don't get that channel.

Just seems to me that I pay for TBS, so I should get to watch what is on TBS.

Come one, people in Ohio got to watch it!

Weird how it all works. 2 years ago the local cable co blacked out the cowboys games cuz they were on the local affiliate. I have heard DTV does this with their NFL ST.

It would be nice if they would pro-rate the service for that, LOL.

sorry, TBS or Dish doesn't make the rules, MLB does, and the local channels/regional sports channels have high priority of the game when it's on TBS or ESPN. so if it's on FSN Southwest or My27 here in Dallas, then they are the only place to see the games, if it's a national only game with no FSN coverage, then ESPN/FOX/TBS covers that game, and to a lesser extent if the Rangers were to play the Chicago Clubs or Chicago White Sox, then WGN America would be blacked out during there coverage of the game.
