Which should I buy to make my 10', C band only, feedhorn KU able?

This new scalar ring with KU lnb built in

or this feedhorn adapter? What a clever idea.

The scaler ring with the lnb built in 'is' ku , BUT , it's for the DTV / Dishnetwork type circular feeds. Not regular fss ku.

The other thing......well....it looks like a thing ....don't know what...just a thing :D

Actually the best approach is to install a true C/KU corotor type feedhorn assembly. I use Chaparral CorotorII units myself. ADL also makes one similar. That way you get full use and function out of the hardware, and in the end you will be much happier. http://www.mjsales.net/items.asp?FamilyID=137&this_Cat1ID=263&Cat2ID=7

I was afraid you would say that but I trying to save a hundred bucks.
Hey! That scalar ring says it's for reular KU "Not Dish or DTV"

Yes you are correct it does says that. My bad :) I'm so used to seeing dbs lnbs mounted in those things. It would be worth a try. It would likely lose a little gain from being off center of the central feed, so you would be catching somewhat of a sidelobe signal. If your dish is well alligned you should get satisfactory results.

But I still recomend the Chaparral with a couple of good quality Norsat lnbs. :D

Get a ADL or Chaparral dual band feedhorn, I would not try to cut corners on Ku, especially when using a mesh dish assuming thats what you have, quality parts = quality picture. You can get a dual band feedhorn cheap if you look around, ebay or the swap and shop on the 4dtv forum:
