I currently use an OTA to get CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX in HD. Lately, I have been getting a lot of frozen pixels on my recordings to my HD-DVR (tivo).

Can I now get the network channels in HD from direct tv (instead of OTA). I live in Dallas.

Thanks.

HR10-250 issue

The problem your having is a known issue with your unit not the OTA signal, according to tech support at D* you need to restart your unit to essentially reboot it, I have found I have to due this at least once a week, if that doesn't work the next step is some sorta hard drive cleanup, that involves a lot of time and loosing ALL info on the drive...

To answer your question regarding receiving HD locals in Dallas:

Yes, sort of.

You can get CBS, Fox and NBC via the Mpeg-4 satelites and an Mpeg-4 HD receiver. There is no HD-DVR that can get the HD locals via mpeg-4 satellite yet. ABC is not available.

ABC is now available according to this thread:
