What chipset does the S16 use? The name and model of your receiver are used by many Chinese manufacturers on many different receiver builds. It is impossible to tell who made the receiver and what hardware build is used by the name only.

Typically you place a satellite/transponder list on an USB drive, connect the USB and load the list using a receiver menu.

You should ask your reseller for a Channel list and the Channel Editor / Loader software so you can make and edit your own lists. Editors are not interchangeable and you will need to know the chipset type to correctly build and transfer files.
 
It uses the ALI3606 and appears to be very limited. I hope you got it for a good price.

Don't worry, the S-17 will be out soon. Maybe they'll skip a few numbers and just go for the S20.

It seems these receivers have gone down in quality on each successive model; Most will agree the S9 was the best.
