I have 3 Dish 301 receivers from 2002 with the original IR remotes. All three remote satellite keys are worn out and function sporadically. The other keys, TV, VCR and Aux work fine.

I am wondering if there is a way to program the Aux or VCR key to control the satellite receiver?

Thanks for your help

No way to do that with those old remotes, a new remote would be the cheapest option.

The AUX button on a 6.2 or 6.3 can be programmed for a dish receiver.

Remotes are actually pretty darn cheap. You can either call Dish and add the DHPP (Dish Home Protection Plan) and get replacement remotes - then cancel it the next month, or you can go to Ebay and get some new ones.
