Change Skip Duration?

Is it possible to program the DirecTV RC65X remote for an HR24-200 to skip something other than 30 seconds? For instance, skip 20 seconds? With the NFL's hurry-up offenses, 30 seconds is too long.

Nope. You can only make it skip or slip 30 seconds.

Gadgt, what's the difference between skip & slip? Have heard the term slip used before & assumed it was just an interchangeable term with skip but I think I've assumed incorrectly.

Slip goes forward 30 seconds showing the video as it goes. It takes a couple of seconds. The skip is virtually instantaneous.

FYI, when you change the from slip to skip you aren't really programming the remote for that functionality, you're telling the DVR how to respond to that button.

Hate to sound like a newb, but I guess I am lol.... I have the Genie system, how do I get to the Search Function? I think I'm in the Slip mode when I want to be in the Skip mode.

Ok, found it, good ole Google. Thanks for the tip anyway, I hated that "Slip" mode.

slip is the default. I don't think the skip is actually supported.
