Help with Box possibly going? Channel 229

It seems 229 is not working on our system. 101-16 seems to be dead. Is anyone else seeing this? All our other channels seem to be working.

EDIT:
Is it possible for 1 box to not show the channel but the rest of them to? Our older box is fine on HD channels (our HD box is 4 yrs old.. the D10-300s are relatively new), but it is not working for 229.

I also notice, when testing, SatC, Transponder 12 is 40s on the old box, and 90s on the new one.

Does this mean the box needs to be replaced?

I assume you mean HGTV. It's working fine for me.

Are you in a favorite channel list that has 229 removed? If so switch to ALL list. If it is still gone , reset the box and then redo the initial setup. If the channel is still gone call DirecTV.

No.. 229 is not removed. I'm on "All Channels" and I can type in 229. It says it's HGTV, but it says searching for sat signal.

It's in the list, it just has no picture.

Try checking the signal from HGTV and see what transponder comes up and the signal strength for that transponder. It sounds like that transponder is not being received by the receiver. If that is the case it may be a cable issue.

Is this before or after the reset & initial setup?

It's 101-16... Should I swap out the coax being used between the wall and my receiver?

The only one I noticed was 16, but I didn't check them all... I can do that when the wife is done watching her show.

This system is 4 yrs old, so it's not an initial install.

Ok, I ran tests....

You should have probably indicated in the first place that it was a DST-3000; As soon as you said that, I immediately knew that it was the box. The low signal on 110 xponder 12 is a classic indicator of this. The DST-3000 has a reputation for overheating and failing in the same manner that the Hughes E-86 (and its clones). Too bad too, it was a decent box but should have been designed a little better in that respect.

It's worked well for 4 yrs. It's not like we didn't get any service out of it if it did go. It doesn't feel hot, at all, when operating.

I just tested with the d10-300 downstairs, where the DST3000 is, and while my readings were slightly lower down there than they are up here, they were all 90+
