Got the old dish mounted and aimed at Galaxy 23C, getting all TPs but one. I need to play with the LNB skew and focal distance some more. The LNB is a BSC 621-2, but the KU is 10600. I may replace it with the Chapparal dual feed to get both C and Ku. I will of course string Christmas lights all around the dish circumference come December. A friend will give me an actuator that I can drive with an analog receiver I have somewhere. Cost to get running was about $80 -- 50 for LNBF, 15 for nuts, bolts, washers, 10 for concrete, and couple bucks for paint and WD 40.

It's always good to hear of another BUD back into active duty. :)

Can we see pics of the back of the mount to the dish? I'm curious of what's going on back there. I think you are the first with that tower idea.

Corrado, yes it is the top of a tower sunk about 4 feet deep. The car battery is going to be affixed to a pipe in back as a counterweight. Right now the mount is about 20 degrees off plumb, but that will be corrected when I get some longer locking bolts. Sorry, no pictures for the present; our delightful (#@*!) West Virginia weather is giving us fits -- it might be 3-4 days before we see the sun!
