That's a relabeled Dish Network OTA "DTVpal DVR". . .
Sold at Sears, last time I looked, and for $100 less (retail prices).
Actual prices may vary, as Channel Master tries to move merchandise.

And if there was an easy way to get the recordings off the hard drive, I'd already have one. -

edit, re prices:
As I recall, $300 for Dish, and $400 for CM, but that was over a year ago.

K-Mart has them too.

I have one...LOVE IT!!!
(and I didnt pay even close to what they're selling for)
Did you get a new one for less than the $250 listed on the Kmart site?
New, or pre-owned by an idiot? -

I'm thinking Dish is done with 'em and won't offer future support.
My big complaint is their converter box and guide: I'm thinking it's overloaded in the LA area by 90+ subchannels.
Would hope the bigger box with its more memory would not have that problem.?.
Anybody got one in one of the top-10 markets, who would care to share?

brand spanking new. Back in early April when Sears started closing them out I went to Eau Claire, WI (about 90 minutes away) and picked up the 6 they had for 100 bucks a piece :)
The department manager guy had them stacked right by the register and he was kinda shocked when I said I'd take them all. Eau Claire has horrible OTA reception so he said they didnt sell. I knew they'd work in Minneapolis :)

One was bad after like two weeks (wouldnt show any signal) so that got returned.

Since its built like the Dish receivers if that was truly the case you'd hear about it in the Dish area too. Havent heard anything like that

I picked um a CM-7000PAL a couple weeks ago and I'm really liking it!

Between this, Neflix and Hulu Plus, I've cut my sat package to help lower my ongoing monthly costs.
