Well, it is nice to know that my 722K with a Google TV box will be just as powerful as a 922 with one. Yay for me :)

Did Charlie go out for happy hour prior to the chat? Seemed like a trainwreck unfolding before my eyes. Almost as if they cut him off to ensure he did not say something else stupid.

It'll be more powerful. It will be what the 923 is going to be minus the cute GUI they have for the 922.

I'm actually very excited about GoogleTV. I think it will be a wonderful content aggregator for TV. I watch alot of Netflix and content stored on my Windows box via my Xbox 360. It will be nice to have one input and one interface for live/recorded/networked stuff.

I think Apple will announce an interesting Video plan when they do the AppleTV revision. They might actually get us the closest to Ala Carte that anyone has yet.

Not a "trainwreck", but interesting gaffs and leaked info from the principals at Dish Network. We didn't know the 922 was underpowered for Android/GoogleTV. We sure as hell didn't know we could pay our bill by working for only 20 minutes!

Well another CC is history. Pretty much as expected 22+ minutes of NFL Redzone. Some bizarre dude from AMC... and lastly.. the 922 is a ... brick... You'll have to wait fot the 923.

And they still watch this pathetic excuse for a program......Trainwreck ? The show is simple . Some lies , a few non truths , and information you can get the next day . And somehow there are folks that watch it . You go guys . Another wasted Monday night . I was doing something much more important .... watching real tv . I would hate to know what you guys do for fun . Lol .

Poking fun at it is fun for us. Some of us (like me) are in broadcast and find this entertaining. Also gives us some chat time to interact as opposed to posting.

I have a life and a beautiful daughter that I play with all the time. A little adult laughter with the sat guys crew once a month is okay by me. And what I do for my other fun, I do with women, and out of respect for Scott, I'll leave those activities unmentioned.

It is only fun if you are chatting here at the same time about it.

Put up a few caps and sound bytes...

Thanks for posting them! I'm amused by the "College Football on Dish Network" slide.

TBS hasn't broadcast college football games since 2006. CBS only carries 2 game maybe two weeks out of the season. Usually its just the one 3:30 ET afternoon game. The ESPN/ABC weekly count is even a stretch unless you are counting all of the Game Plan matchups.

923 i doubt would be the name of this supposed receiver, and i strongly doubt that they would just drop the 922 just like that. the 922 is just a little before its time just like the ps3 was 5 years ago. remember that? now everyone wants a ps3. give it a little time to catch up.. dang..

as with the google box of course it will be an extra fee for it and available for people who want it and are willing to pay for it. it's a business, not a charity sheesh

reason i doubt it would be a 923 is because they are named 211, 622, 722, etc is because of the amount of sat feeds they have going in to them and the number of rooms they support. ex 622, 2 feeds, 2 rooms.. i would expect a 1022 :O

dont you guys know how new technology and the way businesses run yet? sheesh

as for me i'm still happy with my vip622.. 5 years and not a problem yet :)
and even if i did have one i have the service plan :) :)

Apple itv will be out in the middle of September they have hulu, netfelix and the major networks all signed up. The news I have heard is that google tv may still be a way off since they are having problems signing up content providers

"This is what makes Google and Apple's attempts to crack the market this fall interesting. Apple has already failed once in the TV market. Google is meeting a brick wall when it tries to get partners for Google TV. Even Microsoft has tried to break the cable model with Xbox, but it hasn't left much of an impact."

Charlie chats is just funny! Always has been, probably and I hope it always will be. It sure beats the information shows I got on DirecTV or Comcast. Do any who have that service even know who is first and second in command of the company?

If they did the show completely scripted you all would be spending 7 pages of threads complaining that the show was too slick and just another commercial. As it is, Charlie chats is just as the name implies, Charlie CHATS. Most of you all can't spell the third word in a sentence of 3 words correctly so stop being so hyper critical of a very loosely done show intended to be a chit chat format.

Obviously, I find the CC show entertaining and don't take it so serious. However, I would like to just send in my 20 minute pay check which is all he said I should be paying. :D

As for the leak on the 923 because the 922 can't do what it was originally said to do... How long have you all been with Dish Network? Ever since I recall Dish announces new equipment intentions, not capabilities well in advance. When it's released, you buy what you get and anyone who expects it will do more will be thoroughly disappointed. With the competition, you never know what they are up to as they simply don't talk about it. If you prefer that then move to the competitor that offers no entertaining live shows from the CEO's, and no glimpses of what's to come and doesn't even show up at CES but still manages to charge you your whole paycheck for NFLST in HD and then games are still blacked out. At least the blackout games here on Dish Network's NFL RED ZONE are not blacked out.

I have one suggestion for all those who hate Dish and keep coming back here- If you don't like what they offer, move on. Please don't come back. Bob Haller- you spend way too much time hanging around the Dish Network threads after you chose to leave. What's your purpose? Go hang out on the Fios threads or Netflix, wherever you ended up. Or is TV there just too boring and you miss Dish Network so much? I bet its the latter. Dish Network is so much fun, we Dish subscribers have so much fun you just have to keep coming back every day to see what you are missing. I think you suffer cancellation remorse. And this goes for the rest of you who made the respectable decision to leave what you didn't like. But geeze, cut the friggin umbilical and enjoy your new home. All I can say is if you keep coming back here after leaving Dish Network, you are really sorry you left and wish you could reconsider your bad decision to leave. Those who left and no longer post here, I'd say you all were sincere, meant business, and have found what makes you happy.

can i do this?
