It has me scared to click any damn button now in the DVR system and I just checked my USB drive and even though I have not accessed it it's spinning and it's one that spins down when not in use......and I am not using it
It's rather warm/hot too but it should be idle

It could be a fluke and something spun it up so I will just check it now and then but it usually is 'cold' as it's off

I just tried it again, and the 722 locks up as soon as I hit #5 for Dish Online in the menu. DISH GO HOME! This is pathetic! And in the retailer chat they called D* and TIVO DVR's "pathetic"! I can tell you what is pathetic here! I bought my 722 for over $530, and they screw it up!

Similar experience here... "Processing your request...please wait." Then it locks up and reboots if you wait long enough. Haven't messed around enough to see if anything else is messed up.

NICE.

Scott, are they trying to pi.. us off???

Too late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are all of us locking up also the ones that can't get the porn channels ?
I just want to see if that's the connection but it's probably not but I didn't see complaints from the first ones to get this update.

I just went and checked and USB drive still spinning and this is not normal pre 446.

It used to spin down
Someone that also has a drive that spins down please check and see if you're seeing a idle drive when expected or if it's humming along for no apparent reason.
It would be all of us and not just me so yell if you also see this

I got my update today also. Everything seems to work fine for me. Although I didn't see anything I would consider paying for. Most of the older movies I can get for free with the Blockbuster rewards program.

Also, no I cannot access the porn channels.

Stopped working for me now. Now a new one to add to my list of cons.

Does not work all the time.

I am seeing no shows, and just the dish network logo for the "box covers" I assume it will eventually show on the Dish Online screen. It will lockup 50% of the time when I navigate within the Dish Online menu, but it comes back after a minute or two (no need to reboot). So far nothing else seems affected in a negative way...

i got the update and i live in california! i guess everyone got the update now. i tried it and i got this message "processing your request, please wait" and i left the room and came back like 5 minutes later and it went back to normal tv. i tried again and i got the same message and nothing happened. after i tried that i didnt have sound on tuner 2.. i dont know why so i had to reset the receiver! that probably didnt have nothing to do with dish online but it happened right after i checked it.

OK Scott, here's my official review.

Congratulations Dish, the new on demand feature is as useful as a clothing salesman at a nudist colony and with more visible cracks.

When it works, and when there's some free stuff, maybe. But right now it's a steaming pile of horse manure. With the stability of a two-legged table.

And that **** popup that won't go away till I push SAT button. Bloody brilliant. Interestingly, it doesn't work for AUX mode.

It's not completely worthless...it can still serve as a BAD EXAMPLE.

Push TV or VCR button on remote. It'll put a warning box on the screen telling you to push SAT to make it go away.

It's apparently an IR signal, you can prevent it by covering the emitter on the remote when you push the button.

Ok. I'm in California and can finally access the list of old movies. At least the functionality is working. But with New Releases, Dish Theater and After Hours as the only sections, it looks like it will be awhile before they have any other type of on demand. HBO, Starz, or any other type of free On Demand would be nice and I think necessary to be relevant.

If Directv added your hd locals does that mean dish will?

Thank You Dish Network
