I currently have E* and am considering a switch to D*. I have an old dish500 and a dual LNB. I want to use this dish at the other end of my house for SD ONLY because I don't want to have to run a long coax cable from the new D* slimline dish with 5 LNBs. Can the dish and LNB be used with a D* standard definition receiver if I install it and aim it at the D* satellites? Are the basic dish and LNB compatible for both services or is special hardware needed?

A dual Legacy lnb from Dish Network is compatible with Directv but it must be Legacy and not Dish Pro. You could probably just be able to get 101 but that's where the majority of the SD programming comes from.

How do I switch tuners on HR21-700?
