Compensation for the Directv Lies?

Dont want to get optimistic but I am noticing a lot of delays on HR20 700 i dont if it D* trying to fix the glitche or is it bad timing on the box itself. just thought I'd share
 
I don't know about anyone else but I smell blood in the water...

Class action lawyer (s) advertising on one of the new HD channels...

"We're you hacked off because D* didn't turn on the HD as PROMISED on numerous websites leaked documents, and those who know ?"

Do you feel that you've been duped and lied to by the "corporation? "

Do you want that new HR20 upgrade you feel you should get for nuthin?"

This may be a joke now, but I'd bet the odds of a lawsuit coming up are better than HD in the morning.

By the time they got this crapy suit to a judge the channels will be live. Jeez.

This runs close to being the dumbest thing I have read all day; another Joe Average looking to find a stupid and asinine way to twist the arm of some Deep Pocket company over nothing, just to attempt to punch his own personal pseudo-lottery ticket; that is IF it had a chance; which this doesn't.

BUT IF it did manage to win a settlement the user would soon come to the sad realization that it is the lawyers that will get any and all of whatever settlement money there would ever be. BUT, at least you managed to get the subscription rates ass-jacked through the roof for the rest of us; so THANKS!

I used to work for AT&T a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away and retention is a standard practice if people call in and cry like a baby. Customer calls in and says, "I have a long distance call to Africa on my phone bill and I didn't do it!!". Our scripted response is, "yes sir, that is a 900 porn number and it did originate from your house and I can offer you a one-time only adjustment on your bill. If it happens again we cannot adjust it." Some people are always looking to get something for nothing. Sad but true. Oops, now I have to pay royalties to Metallica because they had a song by that name!!

Thats the problem with this country, if somthing don't go your way.... SUE!!! Thats why we pay so much for health and all other kinds on Insurance.

Unfortunately that's the thought process of the clueless who have no knowledge or understanding of tort law or what is involved or the grounds for such action. DTV's appropriate answer to this kind of foolish statement would be "Go ahead sue! There is no legal standing or foundation." :D

In any event expansion will be here very soon. So take a walk, play with the kids or find a life. When you get back you may find new HD channels on that tube you are obsessed with and glued to the front of.:)

I was on hold for 20 minutes before finally speaking with a CSR. Then, surprise, surprise, I got disconnected and had to call back. Then I was hold another 20 minutes or so before speaking with another CSR who then transferred me to a CSR in the "Retention Department". For all of the lies and delays, they offered me a credit of $9.99 per month for a year (the cost of the current HD package). How have you been compensated?

You are a joke.


Thanks for making the next price increase that much sooner...
 
Sad but true some people work the system. I am not ready to judge anyone here based on what I have read that they had bad intentions and D* is not going to give anyone any deal unless they feel it is in there best interest in the long run. They know what kind of customer you are and I have been considered an "A list" customer for years and have spent over 10,000 in "services" with D*. These services are what we pay for and when they do not match up to expectations yes we are entitled to compensation. I along with many of us have gone through many growing pains with D* from the DTC 100 and 1 HD channel to the release of the HR20-700 with all of its bugs. This is a summary of my discussion with retention, I mentioned it has been very frustrating the last few weeks, nfl sunday ticket problems, lost recordings due to content not authorized even though I am subscribed to the content, bad data from csr's (and no I do not consider that a lie, but EVERY employee a company is a representative of the company), dish has the programming now and I don’t need to believe empty promises..... and the response was;;;;; we can offer u a 10 dollar discount for one year or a savings of 120,,, my reply,,, money isn’t the issue,,, programming is,,, their reply back,,, in addition to the 120 discount, another premium package for 3 months for free... it doesn’t get me the HD's any faster, but does help the sting a bit.... btw... these people are real people and even though you may be very frustrated and even angry with the current situation, there is really little to gain by taking it out on the csr's or people in retention, treat them with respect and you may have a better chance of getting something in return... Our problem is with D* and their lack of communication not the people on the front line getting beat up daily..... "Don't shoot the messenger". So as you can see at no time did I ask for money and stated directly that is was not. It is D* that felt the need to offer the compensation.

It was not my intention to make it seem like "I" was going to do that.

I spent 20 years in a previous career defending myself and my Dept from lawsuits on a regular basis, the county DA once told me it only costs $64.50 to file a lawsuit.

I know how stupid these things can be.
 
so exactly whom and what is getting out of hand? I simply repled to the question posed by the thread.

Based off the same info you had, in a word............whiners. The whining bitching and moaning is getting out of hand. :eureka

personally, I missed the part where they said anything was going to be lit up on X day. The info I have says coming soon, at best.

If anyone on these boards puts stock in the CSR's at D* and you have been on these boards for a year or longer... you are the fools.

You have no one to blame in your "pity party" of not having HD but yourselves.
