Computex 2011: What to expect?

The mobile space is getting really crowded...

Microsoft shows off Windows 8 that runs on literally every hardware platform in existence...
And NVidia seems to be ahead of the pack here: its next generation quad-core
Kal-El was shown running Windows 8 as well as Honeycomb 3.1.

I believe Apple's dominance of the tablet market is over. For the moment - in mind share.
Android all by itself managed to beat Apple in the smartphone market in one year. Microsoft joins it in the tablet market.
I'm tempted to say by next summer Apple's tablet market share will be about the same as their smartphone share is today...

Isn't exactly Computex, but along the same lines...
AnandTech - Qualcomm Uplinq 2011 Day Two Keynote - HTC and Nokia

Elop's emphasis on the ecosystem as opposed to product class does sound reasonable.
And that makes the decision to abandon both Symbian and MeeGo if not a smart one, but understandable.
At least when talking about the scale Nokia was operating on and hopes to continue to do so.

With Win8 (essentially being Win7 with different GUIs for different products) this ecosystem idea hits home.
Of course, Nokia "anchored" their fate to MS' but only time will tell how smart/stupid this decision was...
