Hi...I'm just a regular guy who likes music. I'm looking for some sort of cheap equipment (sub $50) that will simply either:

Receive/tune xm or sirius signals and output the sound via optical audio out, or 5.1 channel line out, or regular 2 channel line out.

Is there any such thing?

Welcome to Satelliteguys!!

There have been some deals with Sirius where you can get a PnP (Plug N Play) unit with either a car kit or home kit for $49, but you must prepay I think 3 months when you order, at $12.95 a month. I'm not sure if these deals are still around. Sirius Rich should know.

The PnP with a car kit will either output the sound via cassette adapter, FM Modulation, or regular RCA connections depending on your setup. The home kit will have the RCA cable to hook up to your home stereo.

No matter who you go with you can't go wrong with satellite radio!!

Boy am I stupid, XM install gone bad
