Connecting multiple LNBFs to Multiple receivers

I really like...but just my opinion...you should have some smaller versions so we can send the newbies there if they have questions..

some examples
-2 to 4 separate LNB's to one receiver
-a Invacom quad to one or two receivers

Theres a few more I'm thinking of but they are pretty elaborate :)

At one point I had the 8 running off one Pansat 1500 (few were circular for DBS free stuff)....

Yes, I agree. I am working on it and wil post some more layouts today.

The T90 Toroidal dish will hold multiple LNBFs. So the diagrams will apply to this type of dish as well.
 
I just saw the 8x8 setup...sweet jesus that one is cool :):D

I dont know right now about other setups..there probably are some weird ones but at least this helps :)
 
So, is it fair to say that using "DISEqC" and "22-KHz" switches (as they are the two possible means of switching the signal path) one could create any desired combinations for the application at hand, right?
If the above is correct, then there can NOT be 2 "DISEqC" or 2 "22-KHz" switches on the same signal line from the LNB to the receiver.

you can use 22k switches and Diseqc in combo but not 2 Diseqc or two 22k switches in series.

Also if you have a UNiversal LNB, that takes the place of a 22k switch so if you use Universals, you can't use 22K switches

There is another way (with less switches) to do a 8 LNB into 1 receiver

Use 2 4x1 diseqc and a 22k switch



Receiver-------22k off-----diseqc 1---------LNB 1
--------------------------------------------------LNB 2
--------------------------------------------------LNB 3
--------------------------------------------------LNB 4
------------------22K on----diseqc 2---------LNB 1
--------------------------------------------------LNB 2
--------------------------------------------------LNB 3
--------------------------------------------------LNB 4

Since you sell the Channel Master SAM4402, I'd add a diagram for that too.

I currently use it for my Invacom Quad QPH-031 which can be used for 4 receivers.

Both C feeds to SAT A and Both L feeds to SAT B.

Can also be used for 2 seperate dual lnbs.


Plus, its only one switch to mess with!

Also, you should be able to use it for 4 lnbs to one receiver (maybe 2). Worth experimenting.

There are multiple things you can do with the SAM4402.


EDIT: may be confused with that last comment. Doesn't 13v/18v determine V/H or L/R? If so, i thnk that would negate the 4-1 solution

yes if you are working with more than one receiver, you need to run both lines of a dual lNB into the switch. So when you change polarities, it can go up the correct side :)

But it is possible to put 2 LNB's on one 3x4 multiswitch. Thats what I'm doing right now. I have a C-band dish for the networks on G4. All are Horizontal polarity. I wanted to combine those + the stuff on G10 KU and send it to 4 recievers

Hooked the cable from the C-Band dish to the 18v side of the 3x4 multiswitch
Hooked the cable from the KU band dish to the 13v side of the multisiwtch

So when I pick a channel that is V, it goes up the 13v side to the KU dish and when I select a H trnaponder, it goes up the 18v side to the C-Band dish

Only drawback is I cant scan V on the C-Band side and H on KU side :)

I guess the question I have with the Channel master switch is if I could run 4 single lnbs and output to one receiver. The setup for the switch is basically this:

The switch has 4 outputs for receivers.
IF you only hooked up one, couldn't you set it up this way (for say 4 stationary sats)?

Going by LNB #:

Sat 1: LNB power 13v, 22mhz on
Sat 2: LNB power 18v, 22mhz on
Sat 3: LNB power 13v, 22mhz off
Sat 1: LNB power 18v, 22mhz off

Am I way off?
