I am purchasing a PC card to go along with my Amiko, so I need to get a dual LNB that will work with my GeoSat Pro dish. Which should I get? There are a million of them on Ebay

Well everybody, this is my final setup (for now). The PerfectVision mount came today. I bought 8 of the 4" x 8" x 15" cinder blocks at Menard's, put it together, and it shows very close to level. Parked at 103 for the time being.

I may add a rotor at some point, but I'm going to play with the Amiko for awhile, continue to get used to all of its features, then start messing around with the DVB S2 PC tuner card that should be arriving shortly.

A big THANKS, once again, to everyone who helped me get to this point. It's been a lot of fun.

The new SL2PLL dual LNB came today. I hooked it up and at first, I got nothing. Switched the coax to the other port and it worked. Does power pass through on one port and then the other doesn't need it? In other words, if the Amiko is connected to port 1, does it need to stay on 24/7 in order for the LNBF to get power? Will port 2 only work if there is power on port 1?

I had one of my LNBF's set to 97 last night and saw this guy.... what a blast from the past. I remember watching him on C-Band 20+ years ago. He used to smoke stogeys and drink whiskey on camera.

Likely Dr. Gene Scott smoked stogies and drank whiskey until the day he died.... 18 years ago!

That's not his daughter, it's his wife.

I'm disappointed that she doesn't re-run his more "off-topic" lectures. I used to like listening to them on shortwave before I got a dish.

Regardless, seeing his material at all is a pleasure. He makes religion cool.

I believe his wife was a former porn star, I think at that time from blast from the past!:biggrin

The good old days in the late 80's on C band dish in my Dad's backyard!;)

Yeah, she's easy on the eyes. And doesn't look very old. That's why I was shocked to hear that is his wife on TV and that she is a pastor!

We are experiencing a rather heavy "wintry mix" right now- snow, sleet, ice, rain- and the GeoSat Pro 90cm dish and LNBF's are keeping a strong signal wonderfully. Not just on the main LNBF (103) but the offsets as well. Hardly any noticeable signal loss at all.

This is very well-designed and durable equipment. I am really impressed.
