I'm considering Directv after having Dish for over 12 years - mainly because of the whole house HD capability.

With my dish 722K and an OTA antenna I can currently record 3 HD streams while watching a 4th stream (up to 2 HD Satellite streams & 2 HD OTA streams).

I currently have an HD DVR (622) in my bedroom, and HD DVR in the living room, and am feeding 2 other rooms in the house with the SD TV2 output from my 722K.

My questions are:

What are the max # of streams Direct will enable me to record and/or view?

If I get 2 HR24's (one for bedroom & one for the living room) and 2 HD receivers (for the other 2 rooms) can I view recorded programs from EITHER of the DVR's throughout the house?

Can I get an OTA tuner from Direct that will work through the program guide to enable me to record the OTA streams onto the DVR's?

You can record two channels and watch a third. With the add-on AM21 OTA tuner you can still only record two shows (any combination of sat and OTA).

With Whole House DVR (aka MRV) you can watch any show recorded on any DVR using either a DVR or an HD receiver.

The HD DVRs don't have the capability of outputting two separate shows. All outputs have the same show.
