"Could not reach DISH. Please try again".

Dish never makes promised call backs. Google Home still insists it's a 3rd party app problem. Neither knew anything about a P0 priority. Onstar just had a similar problem and not only provided an estimated repair time, but beat that time by several hours.

I'm excited for you that Onstar support was able to fix your issue!

I just followed up with the team working this issue, and unfortunately there are no updates. I know this isn't a great experience and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Regarding "promised call backs" can you give me any additional detail? Not sure what you're referencing here...

I've talked to advanced tech support and several account specialists. They've told me that engineering would follow up with in 24 to 36 hours. This was 3 times in the last 30 days. Nothing. Tired of starting over every call to explain that I'm not talking about using the dish remote to control the Google assistant.

That's definitely not an expectation that should be set - I'll work with the appropriate teams to try and curb that behavior.

Starting to wish I had not joined this forum and found out how bad Dish support really is. This issue ongoing for mths, new software download reported and recording issues not fixed, in fact no difference.

MERCY.

You do know this forum is not dish support right? There's dish employees in here that sometimes help best they can but the forum itself is not ran by dish and also includes directv and other cable provider sub forums.

Yeah, pretty obvious from the site and name, SATELLITE, not dishguys, but thanks for the tip.

The only dish support I know of is the phone number, and generally they don't have a clue.

Sorry, you just made it sound like you joined the forum thinking it was support and that you aren't getting the help you need. So I was just making sure lol

My Google Assistant on my hopper stopped working about 4-5 days ago. Now, it doesn't matter what I ask it to do, it just pops up a selection of movies or shows. If I say, "Turn off Living room light", I get the same nonresponse. If i say "What's todays weather?", same nonresponse, just icons for movies or shows. Hopper is connected via wired ethernet connection. If I ask my echo show or Phone, they respond correctly.

This is a different issue - something broke on google's end and they are investigating.

Regarding the original issue that this thread was created for - without going into too much detail - there was a major issue on Google's end and they are in the process of completely rebuilding the feature (hence the long turnaround). I apologize for the inconvenience but we are at the mercy of the pace of their dev team for this feature.

Thanks for the update Josh!

Good news! You won't get "Dish not available, try again later" anymore. Google has completely removed Dish from available services. There are no plans to put it back at this time due to the unresponsiveness of the 3rd party developers.
Have you heard any news on what's going on Josh.M

One of the users at the Google Nest Community reported the following:

I believe Dish and Google are working out compatibility issues with the new Google home app and other Google devices working with their newer Hopper Plus W/Android TV built in. Compatibility takes time.

Let’s hope he is correct.

I follow the Google forum and recently Google responded to a customer asking about the integration with Dish. This confirms that Dish and Google are no longer automation partners. Scott can you reach out to your Dish contacts and see what Dish has to say?

It's gone. Here's my chat with Google support. Me: My Google home was linked to Dish Network but stopped working. I unlinked the account and tried to re-link it, but it is not in the list of services. Has it been removed?

Google: Hey Chris, thanks for reaching out. We're sad to say, but Dish Network is no longer available in our list of automation partners for Google Home. We understand how this can be inconvenient, but we’ll take this experience as feedback. You can also reach out to your device manufacturer (Dish | Customer Support - Contact Us) to check for alternatives.
