Couple oddball DVR questions

OK now that I have had 24 hours to play with D* I have a couple questions on recording with the DVR. Now let me preface this with I have never had a dual tuner DVR. In fact I had a Dish 508 about 5 years ago for about a year. I have been recording stuff to a separate hard drive/dvd recorder so I have been limited to one tuner. So some of you may think these questions are dumb but they're new to me So be nice (by the way its the R15)

OK. 1st scenerio
I have a program set to record from 9-10PM on channel A. I am watching another program and the DVR starts recording program A at 9PM. If I hit power on the DVR to turn it off will it still continue to record until 10 or does it kill the timer?

2nd scenerio
I have a program set to record from 1-4PM (say on MLB Network). I also have a program to record from 3-3:30 (lets say on my local network). I know at 1 the MLB channel starts recording but I'm watching other programs which is OK. What happens at 3:00 when the 2nd timer is set to fire on my local Fox yet I'm watching VH1 Classic? Will it change the channel to my Fox station? Will it not record? What happens?

Turning off the power on the device only turns off the output to the TV. So powering off the device does not interrupt your recordings in any way.

You will get a message on the screen, a couple minutes before the recording would start, saying that the DVR has to change the channel to record a scheduled show. It gives you the options of:
* cancelling the scheduled recording (so you can continue watching the channel you are watching)
* or changing the channel to the scheduled recording channel.

If you don't happen to be watching TV or you don't respond to the message, the DVR will automatically change the channel to the scheduled recording.

ok so its like some of my other receivers. My Shaw Direct box gives me the "channel is going to change in 2 minute" warning and I can cancel. Good to know

What can't you pick up with that dish farm up there?

C-Band is different...only have it at one satellite for now

Reason I say I dont want it on the roof is 1/2 my roof (I live in a townhouse) the dishes on the deck shoot over. So if I put a dish up there I lose reception on the deck dishes

cant do a pole mount. Association wont let me (and I'm the president)

I'm surprised the association lets you put them on the roof.

The association people usually say -
We don't want those ugly dishes on the roof.
or
You can't put a dish on the roof, it will make the roof leak.

The rule for our associations are pretty lax
-either on the deck or the edge of the roof
-has to be on the backside of the house so it doesnt show when you come up the driveways. This is Ok as the roofs all run east west so the backsides of the houses work fine

The old president tried a "one dish" rule a long time ago. This is when I had 4 on the roof and when Dish did the "split" locals where some minor locals were on the wing dish. We also have some immigrants who wanted international channels and they were on 61.5 (this is long before 118.7 and Superdishes). I was grandfathered but they told me if I took a dish and the mast off the roof I couldnt put it back on. Well I left the foot there. I found out about OTARD and showed it to the association and they shot down that stupid rule about one dish only. About 6 months later I was on the board
