Cowboys rout Cleveland Girls Club

It just proved the Cleveland is not ready to be among the elite teams in the NFL...and GOD help me, this is tough for me to say because I HATE the Cowboys.....Dallas IS one of the elite teams.....:(

So did I, but probably for different reasons.

News Flash Skippy: The Cowboys were just about everybody's preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl. They are the best team in the league IMO. The Browns aren't there yet obviously. This should come as no surprise to anyone.

With that said, I am not as discouraged with this loss as I am with last years season opening loss to the Steelers.

I actually feel that our QB played well, Jamal Lewis ran well and the O-Line moved the Cowboys D-Line at will, but we abandoned the run when we fell behind early.

I came up with 4 reasons why the Browns lost yesterday:

1) Defense. Our defense which is the weak point on the team didn't show any signs of improvement from last year.

2) Braylon Edwards. Edwards showed signs of rust from being injured throughout training camp in his first game back. He dropped 4 key passes that could've changed the complexity of this game. He also had 2 penalties called on him. If he catches those balls and is penalty free, the outcome of this game could've been completely different.

3) Injuries. Donte Stallworth injured his groin in warm-up drills and didn't play. That left the Browns without their #2, #3 and #4 WR's. (Stallworth, Jurevicius and Cribbs). Cribbs is also our best return man and best special teams defender. Field position is 1/3rd of the game and his abilities are game altering. The Browns also played without 2 starting Offensive Lineman (Tucker, Hadnot), starting LB (Peek) and our starting saftey (Pool).

4) Coaching. Romeo Crennel looked as lifeless as our team at times. A mind boggling call happened in the 4th quarter. The Browns had a 4th down with 3 yards to go, with the score at 28-7 with over 10 minutes in the game. Crennel opted to kick a field goal instead of going for it. Needless to say, the Cleveland crowd showered Crennel with Boo's following this decision.

News Flash Skippy.]

The Cowboys defensive back field has been suspect for years and yesterday they were without the services of all pro Terence Newman. Your passing game Reeks and your run defense is a joke.

The reason i loved it! I'm from TEXAS! All of my family likes the COWBOYS and the TEXANS and the Tennessee franchise! My uncles all six that lived service men no matter where they are all LOVE tha BOY'S! So i was happy for them! Of coarse every body called me about the game. It was great! Oh by the way I LOVE the RAIDERS and titian's!! Also the Boy's for the family angle.

When are the Cowboys supposed to start playing in their new stadium? Flew over it last week - looks pretty nice. What's the plan for the stadium in Irving once they've moved - implosion?

That's got to be real frustrating for Cleveland fans and a terrible time for a brain fart like that. Like Aikman said, you're still down 3 scores and you only have one timeout left...

Exactly. That call made no sense. Romeo should've been drilled by that call at the press conference.

BTW, I know it's early, but anything short of reaching the playoffs this year WILL result in a Crennel firing. His inability in not being able to motivate his players during big games and his inaccurate tactical in-game decisions are inexcusable. There's already rumblings that Bill Cowher (ex- Browns player and coach) is going to be ready to coach again next year. This team needs a motivated and emotional coach like that IMO.

PS. I can't believe I just campaigned for an ex-Stooler coach?! I've spent 14 years of my life berating that guy! ;)

The reason I loved it is because I'm a Steelers fan, and I hate anything that has to do with the Brownies.

News Flash Skippy....If Romo didn't throw that interception, it might have been 45-3.

And if my sister had a set of ...... she'd be my bother. You get the point. I've already outlined my 4 reasons why the Browns lost.

See you next week Yinzer.
