I setup my slimline dish myself, turned out pretty good as far as I can see, BUT, on 12 HD channels, I get searching for satellite signal, 771 code. Did I do something wrong? Is there a list somewhere that I can't seem to find, showing which Sat. and TP each channel is on, or in reverse? Thinking I am missing one satellite.
771 Channels are:
212 NFL HD
248 FXHD
255 MGM HD
276 NGC HD
359 Fox Business HD
504 HBOw HD
512 MAX HD
520 STRZ HD
521 STRZw HD
607 Speed HD
610 CSTV HD
612 FUEL HD
There may be more, but none I would watch. Many HD's are just fine though (TNT HD, TBS HD, CNN HD, Etc.)
Thank you!

What are your signal strengths on 99 and 103?

Setup-Sat & Antenna-View Signal Strength

All of those channels (and many more) are on 103 (b or c, depending on software version), although CNN and TBS HD are as well (TNT HD is not). All transponders except those listed as N/A should probably be 80 or higher. Check with both tuners.

Your missing transponders off the 103b.

99 Sat. 0 signal on the odd transponders, 94-98 on the even transponders

103 (a)
1-6 tp. sig. level 94,41,92,47,94,38 (7 and 8 N/A)
(9-14 N/A) 15-16 0,0
17-24 0, 100, 0, 74, 0, 0, 0, 0
103 (b) 1-8 tp. 0, 0, 0, 0, 43, 0, 85, 49
9-14 92, 81, 94, 94, 94, 94 (15-16 N/A)
17 is 94, 22 is 83
All the rest are N/A

I saw elsewhere a suggestion to reset receiver with red reset button to clear searching for satellite signal message, did that and got no change, its searching again...

Problem solved, thanks all! My cable was not long enough, so I added a diplexer in line just to join two rg6 cables, nothing on the TV input, sat. signal only on the cable. Replaced diplexer with satellite meter to join cables, all channels are now great!
Thanks again.

I had the same problem recently after replacing a fried Zinwell 6x8 switch. One DVR would get NFL HD and the other DVR wouldn't. It turned out if I moved the 'BBC' (B-Band Converters), the problem moved to the other DVR. So, I need to get to figure out which one(s) are bad and will order a couple..
