I was one of the Detroit reports. I went back and rechecked and I have
103 t9 at 83. I also have 99 t19 40

I have a h20-100 that was installed on monday of this week. It is my understanding that the h20's give lower reading. I have a h10-250 also and the reading for the same transponder are about 10 higher on the HD-DVR. Perhaps that is why the reading are lower for the Detroit HD's.

Looks like if I wanted to move to NYC the spots overlap with Hartford/New Haven. Neat.

I doubt Hartford and NYC will ever be a problem just as it appear LA and San Diego probably are in the same situation.

I have the HD20-600 and live 150 miles North of Minneapolis and use a "vacation home" address to receive locals from there. Can someone advise me on the HD signal strength and if I'd be able to receive locals in HD with a 5-LNB. Currently I have no problems with the 3-LNB but am looking to upgrade.

Thanks.

I think HDTVFanAtic is using mine and afulkerson's numbers here in Motown. They seem to be very similar so it doesn't look like we are misaligned, dish-wise.

103 Network 14:

Transponders:
3 (53) 5 (80) 7 (55) 9(85) 13 (85) 15 (54)

afulkerson's to compare Detroit readings:

3 (40) 5(80) 7 (33) 9 (83) 13 (85) 15 (52)

---------------------------------------------------
103 Network 14 None
---------------------------------------------------
99 Network 10 None
---------------------------------------------------

99 Network 11

Transponders:

15 (35) 19 (45)

No Multiswitch on my setup.

Agreed - but that's why I am trying to get comparitive readings for everyone - With the D* Installers that might not be properly trained and in a hurry to get their $50 there is no telling if people are "tweaked". Comparisons will be the only way to check - another reason for this thread.

I really appreciate your input!

If I was a betting man, right now I would bet that you and afulkerson are on different sides of the Detroit DMA, thus the spotbeam that is on 3 and 7 (and thus far we don't know which one that is until more people input their data) is quickly rolling off between the 2 sides of the market - thus your difference in signals there - compared to the others being so similar.

Thanks for participating and making it work

Nothing on 103 either?

Notice 99 - T31 has signal in both LA and PHX.

Now, we just have to figure out where it's strong, lol.

BDL - NH. How many know thats the abbreviation for Bradley International airport (Hartford/New Haven)? I guess those that live here do but BDL can throw off a few folks. Took me a second.

Happy to help - hope someone can comment on what I consider very low strength - should I be calling DTV and complaining?? I remember back in the early days you want at least 85 and more like 88-90 to keep a strong consistent signal - is that still the case, with my 3 LNB Dish I had strong signals, these numbers seem low to me - should I be concerned?? Thanks!

KC is most been shifted to Sat 99 T-8 if I had to guess right now. The others are just spill over most likely from other spotbeams - but you are seeing more than any other market we've seen. The fact that you are getting this many different spotbeams, if your AT9 was misaligned, I doubt you would see all these different Transponders.

If you look to the right, it appears some of your weaker spotbeams are most likely Dallas and Houston.

It actually gives you more options should you decide to "move" to another market.

65 Miles East of San Francisco - 65 Miles South of Sacramento?

Which Television DMA are you in?

Like kds64, I live in Phoenix (Glendale) and for #99 network 11 I show a 30 for transponder 29 and a 40 for transponder 31.

I live 40 miles south of San Francisco and have been receiving the 4 SFO HD channels using the H20 receiver since last November....Today the signal strength for the 2 Ka-band satellites is:

103 satellite
tsp 20 - ss 65
tsp 24 - ss 72

99 satellite
tsp 23 - ss 25
tsp 26 - ss 60
tsp 31 - ss 39

Please note: My H20 receiver always shows a signal strength for the 3 Ku-band satellites that is 20 points lower than the two H10 receivers that I have which are all using the same 5 LNB antenna. I am pointing this out as one can see my readings are lower than what others are reporting..

When I looked at the roll off on 99 T26 and T31, not to mention 103 T20 and T24, I assumed you were going to say you were down in that area.

Next update I am moving Phoenix closer to the Bay area grouping as clearly they are both seeing the beam on 99.

I live in Folsom Ca 21 miles east of Sacramento CA. Results for 99 & 103

99
T23 59
T26 100
T31 100

103
T20 77
T24 80
