D*Tivo dying- what will I get?

I pay for the insurance, whatever its called, if my old tivo finally quits, and I think it going to, what will direct replace it with, and how do I get it, i.e., they ship it or it has to be installed?

any dealing up to a HD unit? I'm "PVR fee paid forever" if I upgrade to HD will I still have no pvr fee?

1. unless it was an hr10-250 then no

2. pvr for life is only as good as the life of the tivo. As that was a tivo deal not a dtv deal and has the same limitations as a regular tivo but some customer have gotten to kee pthe free dvr code.

You might be able to get a TiVo unit off ebay and keep your free Tivo 4Life.
Units sell pretty cheap and you will have to buy a new access card from Direct for an additional $20

Only reason why I dont mention a R22 as they are rare to get one. I say r15/16 to be what most likely they would get / and if they get a r22 it is a nice surprise. You say r22 then people kind of expect it.

the Tivo 4 life is tied to the that tivo just like it is when you pay forthe tivo4life service from tivo directly. Now what I seen is that the billing system not remove the code when it should of and it just stayed on.

You could also try weaknees for repair of your TiVo if you want to keep TiVo
