Delete History?

I posted this in the main DirecTV forum, and now realize it should probably be asked in the DVR forum instead. I apologize for the duplicate postings.

I was playing around with my HR-21 DVR and noticed it has an extensive history list. Two questions:

1. Can it be deleted?

2. If not, how far back does it go? It is based on dates or limited in that it can only hold a certain number of programs on the list?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

1) Probably, if you reformat the hard drive. (Not sure how you'd do that.

2) The oldest ones may start dropping off.

If you reformat you will lose your history plus all your recordings,favorites lists and parental
settings.

The only way is to reset it. What is the big deal with a long history? Is it in the way somehow?

I've got 135 in my history, but there seems to be no way of deleting them, however I really don't see a reason to worry about them.
