Demanded a 1000.4 dish instead of a 1000.2... Was I just being mean?

The OP thinks that he will get better service if he has a stronger signal. He seems focussed on that. The thing is, if he has good service already, he doesn't get any better service with a stronger signal.

No way would I demand a 1000.4 over a 1000.2 in the baton rouge area. 110/119/129 are some very hot birds in this area plus you get the locals too. Shot yourself in the foot for being able to record more than 2 local channels at a time. No way would I count on WAFBs crappy low power signal for my recordings.

I did not read the whole thread - it's late, but the 1000.4 was probably put on the WO because that is what dish is replacing the 1000.2 with EVERYWHERE, going to one dish with two different lnb heads one for EA one for WA. The computer system has probably been set to start spitting out the new dish config.

1000.4 is slightly bigger (better signal) than the 1000.2 because it was first designed for the weaker EA sats.

Now I go to bed.....
