We are moving and need to install a new dish. We are currently using western arc should the new installation be eastern arc?

Either arc will work.

I personally think western arc is more reliable around here.

If you need an extra dish let me know. Got a few dozen used ones at my store
WA signals are stronger. The problem is in northern latitudes 129 is very low in the sky. Which means that 100 foot tall spruce tree across the street may offend the line of sight. Crap shoot.

In Detroit...

129 - 24 degrees
119 - 29 degrees
110 - 34 degrees

61.5 - 37 degrees
72 - 42 degrees
77 - 45 degrees

Clearly an advantage for eastern arc, but you will be surprised that you really don't have as many situations as you think where eastern arc is the only option

I live on the Michigan Ohio border and have a good look both ways. Just wondered which one would be the best choice.
