I've been trying to find an OpenVix multiboot image but the only ones I can find are non-multiboot images.

I have the latest one on your link installed in an open slot and it works fine with multiboot. I'm not sure how much the distinction matters, to be honest.

You can flash that openvix image as multiboot also just leave it zipped and put the file in downloaded_images folder and flash with the Flash image menu of Tnap or Openpli. Or if you already have a copy of openvix installed use the image manager and download the flile with the yellow button on the remote and flash with the blue button.

Anyone have any thoughts on the timeshift not working?

Go into Expert settings in the setup menu and Recording paths and change timeshift location to media/usb or media/usb/timeshift should work also.
