I find the aging EHD I use on my Edision Mio 4K is nearing the end of it's life cycle. Curious what method other users utilize for duplicating or backing up recordings.

I know the receiver can move recordings between drives one at a time easy enough. What about running a command line in a Linux distro? Seems more efficient. Would the Edision have any issues with permissions if not done in a certain manner on the replacement hdd?

I have gone into our Edision Mio 4K+ using FileZilla running under Ubuntu Linux and pulled recordings off easily. Just select the ones you want and download them to your computer. 🙂

Needs to be tested, but if you config. mounts setup. And get the settings right to use a network share as hdd. Pull your EHD. Recording and backups should go over LAN to the mapped location. Or just replace the drive in the failing unit.

Thanks guys. I was totally overthinking the process and forgot about the Filezilla program. It's been years since I used it or the Dreambox editors and it escaped me.

The replacement HDD will be here Saturday and I will continue over the weekend.

How to do a mini backup in TNAP 5.x? I forgot...

TNAP 6 for Edision: Yes or No?
